01 / Abstract

Context and purpose.

Artificial intelligence may support document organisation, image processing and consistency checks in forensic reports. The review distinguishes document automation, predictive models and generative AI, examining how practical benefits should be demonstrated.

Romanian and European frameworks are compared with selected approaches from England and Wales, the United States and New South Wales. A staged implementation pathway addresses independent validation, traceability, data protection and effective human oversight, including REMA assessments.

This is a narrative review, not a meta-analysis. The original Romanian PDF retains its status as a manuscript for evaluation and identifies legal texts requiring further verification before institutional application.

02 / Key findings

Conclusions to retain.

  1. 01Performance in a research dataset does not establish validity in an individual case.
  2. 02A predictive model cannot independently establish cause of death, causation or mental capacity.
  3. 03Benefits must be measured after verification and correction of outputs.
  4. 04Lawful data processing, product conformity and evidential value require separate assessment.
